I see that the University of Strathclyde is planning to launch a Genetic Genealogy Research Network. Is anyone here getting involved with this?

An interesting discovery this morning (when I was looking for something else).

I knew my Gran worked for the Glasgow department stores Frasers and Gordon Brothers but I didn't realise she was interviewed for a job at Wylie & Lochhead as well.

What do you call a trio of Glasgow department stores?

I guess all new features on #Genealogy websites and programmes have to start somewhere but this is all I'm getting on Ancestry's new DNA clustering feature lol (My Dad's known 1st cousins).

Can there be any better #FamilyHistory delight than getting a new #DNA match who is already in your tree? #Genealogy.

#OnThisDay in 1874, the East India Company was dissolved after over 200 years of trading. If your ancestors were among the Brits who settled in India during the colonial period, including members of the East India Company, here's how to trace them:

We wanted to share with our lovely @followers about this amazing exhibition @maryhillburghhalls. Curated by @AnabelMarsh and the Maryhill Burgh Halls team, it tells the story of Maryhill #suffragette, trade unionist, politician and all round #herstory heroine, Jessie Stephen.

In my beloved Dunfermline Carnegie library today and the community gallery is currently featuring the work of the HNC Photography course at the local college. This by Olena Cheban was my favourite. #Dunfermline

Just opened the new journal from the Aberdeen & North East Scotland family history society and gone straight to the family tree always in the middle. I recognise 2 names, ah I'm a distant cousin of the tree donater! Not the first time this has happened. #FamilyHistory #Scotland

Had a wonderful night tonight at Capercaillie's 40th anniversary concert. I love modern folk music. Karen Mathieson has some voice. #Scotland

Oh that's sad, pretty sure Enzie is an ancestral church. Most churches around Buckie are.
Four Scottish churches new to market this past week:

💒 Kildrum Church, Cumbernauld (B)
💒 Enzie Church, Portgordon (B)
💒 Tyrie Parish Church
💒 St Luke's & Queen Street Church, Dundee (A)

I had a lovely chat with Dad's nextdoor neighbour last night supporting him with his #FamilyHistory research. Easily answered his questions. He was very pleased. An excellent peri menopause confidence booster which is very needed.

Going to an exhibition on Dunfermline Abbey church tomorrow. I believe Church of Scotland wants locals to fund Dunfermline Abbey church even if they don't affiliate with Church of Scotland rather than sell as has been done with another local Abbey. Will see what's actually being said. #LocalHistory

Today (Mother's Day in the UK) is the 3rd worst day of the year for me. A very judgemental post on an Ancestry FB group has just got the sharp edge of my tongue. I'm getting lots of back up though ❤️
