Capitalism: never has so much been earned by so many for so few.
Religion: the ignorant believe it, the wise ignore it, the rulers use it.

Just a short time to the winter solstice and the return of the sun which I shall be celebrating with a drink or three. It beats Xmas, which, as it is merely the capitalists’ festival of profits, I don’t celebrate at all.

Nothing will stop the rich getting richer(entirely at the expense of the working class) until capitalism is abandoned in favour of socialism: a moneyless, co-operative world.
The rich keep getting richer. The poor keep getting poorer.

Nothing will change until we bring about a fundamental redistribution of wealth, ownership and power.

People who dare to leave high-control religious groups and cults face homelessness, physical abuse, death threats, isolation, and so much more. We run a helpline, open three days a week, for those people to connect with our experts to make sure they get the help they need. #CultAwarenessDay

Sadly, while the UK debates with itself how to control immigration and borders, nothing is done to remove the cause: rival ruling classes in each country torturing and killing their own and each other's citizens, or imposing cruel laws based on ancient religions.

Good points in the letter: the apology for the editorial mistake the questions about the knowledge of the programme, its reach into the jurisdiction, and evidence of damage.

I would perhaps add - as a goodwill gesture - an offer of one dollar.

Let's stop pretending that the billionaire media, endlessly attacking the BBC, has the slightest interest in balance, impartiality and accuracy. They won't be happy until the BBC is more rightwing than Vlad the Impaler. And then it still won't be enough.

Mail Online reports Nigel Farage says that the BBC may have no future.

He imagines bringing to an end century of public service broadcasting in the UK - because the populist politician and his US political ally Donald Trump do not want the BBC to survive

No thanks, Nigel.
No thanks, Donald

Removing flags put up by far-right clowns costs councils over £70,000 (Observer 9th Nov) while hard-up Nottinghamshire council commits £75,000 for putting them up across the City.

1/Xmas should be dumped; it's just used by the rich and powerful to squeeze more profit from the rest of us.

Funny...
...and true, when you think about it.

Hardly any British immigrants to Spain ("expats", haha!) speak more than a word or two of Spanish after years there.

But "foreigners not integrating" here ...?
Most of them soon speak better English than Reform / UKIP voters & flag huggers

A lot of young women, with puffed up lips, heavy eye makeup and caked on face makeup, remind me of Kermit the Frog's friend, Miss Piggy.

When did the words "several" and "many" become replaced completely with the clumsy, except in a strictly mathematical context, word "multiple"?

The referendum was illegally won and should have been annulled. Our politicians knew this but continued regardless, using the loophole that it was "non-binding" - despite treating the result as totally binding.

It was a bait and switch. Surely that's Misconduct in Public Office.

Just started watching an Alex Cross series. The picture is so dark we have turned off all living room lights. Still so dark we are amazed that the characters don't keeping bumping into things.

We really only have the sound track so it's time to change the programme.

Are the film makers thick?

Think how many jobs add nothing to the world but exist only for capitalism. The list is far too long for a post here, probably easier to list the worthwhile jobs. Three of each:
Banker. Bus driver
Insurer. Farmworker
Stockbroker Nurse

Is the UK addicted to “full independent inquiries”? Does it really take a years-long process costing millions to say it was a mistake to release Hadush Kebatu on Friday? Wouldn’t a faster internal process into what went wrong allow the government to *fix* it faster?
