Capitalism: never has so much been earned by so many for so few.
Religion: the ignorant believe it, the wise ignore it, the rulers use it.

Not true, but if such terms are not clearly agreed by all the debating parties, there can be no meaningful discussion.

Hurler’s extremely right wing party called itself socialist, Stalin’s extreme left wing louts did the same.

How would *you* define “socialism” and justify your definition?

yes, Mamdani is not a socialist, he is a reformer

Technically it was only Johnson’s constituency that voted for him. The PM is the leader of the party with the most MPs, and is elected by the party members, not the enfranchised general public.

The advisory (!) referendum result was approx 37% (!) of the electorate for leaving the EU.

We don’t want the money, we want collective ownership and control of the means of production.
December 1, 2025 at 6:26 PM
No doubt we are out for a long time, but it seems crazy that we are letting the minority who don’t want to rejoin the EU have their way.

At least we know he will die, and from his appearance, couple with his incoherent speech, it might be sooner rather than later.

Sorry, you’re wrong.

They don’t *earn* it.

They *steal* it from working people.
December 1, 2025 at 5:24 PM
Sorry, but never try to educate anyone about politics - you’ll confuse them utterly.

True, because some people give it their own meanings. However, debates are useless if terms are accepted as fluid.
So “socialism doesn’t always mean communism “? Its meaning varies according to what?

How am I confusing the market, which is the exchange of good and services for money, with the accumulation of surplus value, which is the result of the exploitation of the Wokingham class? Neither would exist in a socialist (communist) world.
December 1, 2025 at 2:41 PM
They all act for capitalism, and who do you think “the media” represent and speak for?
December 1, 2025 at 2:20 PM
Communism and socialism are synonymous. Capitalism is entirely about selling the product of the working class in order to make a profit. Without capitalism money would be redundant.
December 1, 2025 at 2:17 PM
I’m sure that, in a post-capitalist world, people would still give loved ones gifts. What do you imagine happened before money was widely used?
December 1, 2025 at 2:13 PM
Capitalism can’t be boycotted. All you can do is 1) get to understand all you can about it and genuine socialism, 2) with that education behind you, to vote for socialism in elections.
A long haul, but if we all did that we could get rid of capitalism.
December 1, 2025 at 2:08 PM
Hang on, if socialism entails the means of production being owned collectively by all, then the need for money, and therefore taxation, income & inequality of wealth would vanish. As Marx expected.

Indoctrinated, yes, morons, no: religious propaganda and restricted education, encouraged by the state, is a powerful combination, especially when applied to children at their most impressionable.

Time the workers of the world united and eliminated their masters.

And you are unhappy with them because they disagree with you. I suspect you lean, politically, towards the right and GB News. Fair enough, but I would hate to see the Beeb go. Its news coverage, documentaries and general entertainment has been first class for at least 83 years.
