This touches on how, during WW1, there was a similar program to bring Mexican workers to the US, but in the 30s, the US repatriated nearly 1/2mil Mexicans, many US citizens. Same thing happened after WW2 in 54 - US says it deported 1mil+ ppl - while the Bracero Program still existed in much of US!
