I don’t have much by Booker T. & the M.G.’s, but I have this one, so I had to pull it out in honor of the late Steve Cropper, longtime M.G.’s guitarist and on many Stax Records hits.

Finally getting around to listening to this album, a legendary record from 1973 that launched the careers of these two to new heights. They would soon join Fleetwood Mac, becoming key pieces of their massive success in the ‘70s & ‘80s

It's important to note the fact that Wendy Carlos, whose 86th birthday is today, was the first trans woman to win a Grammy award, in 1970, for her iconic classical album "Switched-on Bach," recorded entirely on the Moog synthesizer which she helped Robert Moog develop.

Tonight on Lake Effect Radio we pay tribute to two legends of rock we very recently lost - John Lodge & Ace Frehley. Both Rock Hall inductees, they made music of very different styles. We’ll feature a set from each, tonight @ 9:00 on Free Form Friday.

The U.S. House’s extended recess periods mean that Rep-elect Adelita Grijalva of Arizona has still not been sworn in after winning a special election two weeks ago. Some Democrats have charged there’s another reason Grijalva’s swearing-in has been delayed: the Epstein files.

Rep.-elect Adelita Grijalva of Arizona, who won her election two weeks ago, would be the final signature needed to pass a resolution directing the Justice Department to release documents on Epstein.

My ‘Now Playing’ stand is for records, but tonight it’s balancing a CD (since I don’t have this one on vinyl) as well as the waitress on the album cover is balancing an orange juice. This had to be my designated listen tonight in honor of the late Rick Davies.

Racism wins with this Supreme Court...again.
BREAKING: By an apparent 6–3 vote, the Supreme Court halts an injunction that had prevented immigration agents from racially profiling Latinos in central California.

Sotomayor, dissenting, says the decision is "unconscionably irreconcilable with our nation's constitutional guarantees."

RFK Jr. should’ve never been confirmed, & he’s proven that every day since. Children are literally dying from measles because of his lies & reckless anti-vax agenda. He is a threat to our health & our democracy. Public office has no place for deadly, deranged delusion. It’s time for him to resign.

Listening to a lot of these guys following Friday’s Jerry Cantrell concert. Few bands have produced darker music and I’m not sure there’s a more depressing song than “Nutshell,” but this is a great record, highlighting their skill at less heavy, semi-acoustic rock.

We dutifully lined up at school to get vaccinated. We eradicated the disease. We protected the common good and saved lives.

What RFK Jr. is doing to public health in America is a disgrace.
