Trump, whose mind has long been a fantasy land of made-up facts, seems increasingly fixated on one thing these days: Epstein.

Trump has Epstein files on the brain as presser goes off the rails
President Donald Trump can’t keep accused sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein off his mind. During a press conference on Wednesday, Trump whiffed a softball question about a Fox News report that FBI…

Stone allegedly shared his asteroid rape fantasy IN FRONT OF federal judges. Would love to know which ones! bsky.app/profile/robe...
CORRECTION: Judd Stone is not accused of outlining his asteroid rape fantasy over the course of months, as I wrote. Rather, he allegedly disclosed his asteroid rape fantasy in "excruciating detail" over a "long period of time" during a meal with federal judges, governor staff and NGO workers.

This should be seen as evidence of the crisis: federal judges fear that Trump will order U.S. Marshals to stand down on securing the safety of judges whose decision they don’t like. This is just devastating.

Wow. This is major news. Judges discuss moving the U.S. marshals from the executive to the judicial branch. Not only would they protect judges from trump threats, but it would also make it easier for courts to order marshals to carry out court orders.
“Judges Weigh Taking Control of Their Own Security Amid Threats” — because the Marshals answer to Trump, per this extraordinary scoop from @WSJ.com www.wsj.com/us-news/law/...

If you would like to know what it is like living as trans right now:

I cannot think of a single week in the last 5 and a half years since I transitioned where a politician, celebrity, government or public figure of some prominence hasn't attacked trans people.

It is constant. Never-ending.
the average cis person would have to be admitted into a psych ward if they suddenly had to manage the regular stress of day-to-day that we all face with the added pressure of being a tranny and having the Entire World focus on trying to kill you almost every day
It rules being a tranny because you tune into the news on a random day and find yourself confronted with some new story like "New budget specifically says 'we wont cover healthcare for trannies. specifically those people'" and then i have to go back to work like everything is normal for 8 hours

🧵 This is a perfect example of how disordered discourse reshapes democratic politics, not by policy failure, but by the performative targeting of identity. Let’s unpack what’s happening.
one of the most insane normalized aspects of our political climate is politicians going after their own constituents in the name of anti-wokeness. what are we doing here

Senate Republicans Are Poised to Deal a Shattering Blow to the Filibuster

If you write "Project Esther outlined an ambitious plan to fight antisemitism" and don't use scare quotes around 'fight antisemitism,' you're normalizing their bullshit.

This is an important and disturbing read…
Trump's ugly nonsense about the "genocide" of white farmers in South Africa suggests he's tapped into an internationalized version of white genocide theory that long festered on the far right and has now become mainstream.

New piece from me digging into all this:

Trump’s Embrace of White South Africans Takes Dark, Unnerving New Turn
First, Trump officials cut off refugee resettlement from all over the world. Then they got those white Afrikaners here in three months. Funny how that happened.

Expect more of this. When his economic policies fail or cause further pain- which they will- this will be the route to consolidating his power among an anxious base who will be wondering why their saviour is costing them money.

Sadly, this appeals to a lot of my Gen X peers who were raised on Happy Days. They’re recreating America based on whites-only nostalgia for a decade they never experienced. It’s like if Gen Z tried to recreate the 1980s based on Stranger Things.
One of the things people don’t quite get about Trumps cooked brain is he is permanently stuck in 1950 something. Housewives, busy business men, movies made in America. It’s an idealized whites only 1950s that plays in his brain and he tries to recreate that.
