It’s not fair.

It’s not fair that we can’t trust the average publication to tell us what matters anymore.

It’s not fair that we have to be knowledgeable about political procedure.

It’s not fair that there isn’t a trusted place to go to see who we should be paying attention to.

If Congress caves on the SNAP issue, it will be like blowing out a birthday candle but ignoring the blowtorch of losing the supplement that pays for health care premiums. Support your local food banks. Help your neighbors. Resist together.

Really, nothing I can say to add to this.
“No, Speaker Johnson — the No Kings rally on October 18 is not a hate America rally. In fact, it’s quite the contrary: It’s a love America rally.” #NoKings

If you don't like being harangued by hyperventilating talking heads, take a moment here to risk being bored by Chris Murphy. But seriously, he is calm and rational and absolutely devastating as he lays out the path we are on. Resist.
We aren't on the verge of an authoritarian takeover. We are in the middle of it.

But I worry people don't see the whole scheme. They just pay attention to each new daily outrage. So I went to the Senate floor to explain Trump's plan.

Here's a 🧵of the speech. It's important.

This is the best messaging I’ve seen from any Democrats on the shutdown. Kudos to AOC, Bernie, and their teams for putting this out there.

DAILY DEMS DOING THE WORK, MAKING NOISE, AND FIGHTING BACK Day 246

It’s another day I’m 99% sure you haven’t heard these stories and that just makes me so upset, especially the UN one, that should be all over my feed, as should this secretive recording.

DAILY DEMS DOING THE WORK, MAKING NOISE, AND FIGHTING BACK Day 244

Some days I just love what I do so much, and today is one of them. If it weren’t for me you wouldn’t know any of this, which is heartbreaking, but I am I am sharing it, and now you don’t have an excuse to say you didn’t know.

My life is better because of the people* in it. (*trans, gay, Black, immigrant, tattooed, weird accents, neuro-spicy, etc. etc.) I wish the gov't would quit coming after the best parts of my life.

DAILY DEMS DOING THE WORK, MAKING NOISE, AND FIGHTING BACK Day 231

Every day people say Dems don’t care about their constituents, and every day I see so many things proving them wrong. Hopefully seeing these fighters helps you know they’re wrong too.

Way too few people seem to understand this

@hakeem-jeffries.bsky.social and @schumer.senate.gov are not the same person.

They do not have the same circumstances nor do they do not have the same track record.

Jeffries and whip Katherine Clark have done a phenomenal job whipping in the House.

I really, REALLY wish people would internalize the absolute stranglehold voter suppression and gerrymandering have over many red states with high BIPOC populations (who reliably vote blue) before consistently writing off these entire states and saying shit like “they deserved it”.

I think the weird thing about this is that I was born only 16 years later, and WWII always felt like ancient history to me. I look back 16 yrs now and it seems uncomfortably close. Horrific devastation followed by astonishing progress in what was really a very short time. I'm aghast yet hopeful. 1/
WWII ended 80 years ago today, as Japan surrendered on the USS Missouri in Tokyo Bay.

I’m tired of hearing arguments against our Dems that I know are false, and the person spreading them would too, if they just took a second to verify.

I hope you research every claim first, instead of just believing it.

It's time and past time to shun ICE. I don't mean on a large scale, I mean one on one. If I find out one of my friends works for ICE, I reject them.
