I think this is a bad faith, "doomerism" argument, the equivalent of making a harsh statement, then saying "fight me." This was my reply.

Screen capture: Are you an example? Have you publicly stated that you will personally send a campaign donation to any R who changes parties? Have you sent a donation to an R who has changed party to D? Have you sent at donation to Geoff Duncan? Be the change you want to see. No one is coming to rescue us but us.

This was my exchange with Joshua Weishart re this article, and I stand by it. The NYT has done a shameful amount of normalizing Trump and them scolding Dems now is bs. They need to get the plank out of their own eye.

"Tell me why I should support the NYT when their normalizing of DJT helped us get here. Why are you scolding Dems? And be specific. What do YOU want Dems to do? Otherwise this is just click bait to bolster the NYT" JW reply: "I have my issues with Ezra but he is in a position of influence and is making compelling points about whether Dems should vote to fund the government. We demand universities, law firms, and others take big risks, why not Dems? Can't wait for midterms, everyone is a node of coordination."

"Dems should absolutely support democracy and constituents should push hard for them to do so. But implying *no* Dems are working is doomerism and I am so damn tired of it. Why not say "Why are only some elected Dems fighting for democracy and not all of them?"

My fondness is for the artwork and calligraphy, and one of my hobbies involves producing new art in those styles. Your work makes my hobby possible.

Camouflage frog and playing with alt text

Alt text has a 2000 character limit, while a bsky post has a 300 character limit. So much room to expound! And write a vibrant, even poetic description of your image. This is a perfectly camouflaged little brown frog with a dark strip across its eye sitting on last fall's dry oak leaves. The color match is perfect. If it had not moved, I would never have noticed it to take its picture.

A waterfall a mile and a half in on a quiet, occasionally muddy trail in a little town in the western Massachusetts hills. Worth the walk.
