Perhaps paradoxically for those not familiar with the science, the Atlantic 'cold blob' enhances summer heat and drought in Europe by enhancing south-westerly flow, which will impact agriculture, forestry, tourism, fire risk and more. Slide from a recent talk I gave in Madrid.
