My philosophy and experience with students is that they can almost always do incredibly difficult work, but if you ever waste their time with soul-killing meaningless work, you have essentially poisoned the well when it comes to getting them to spend any additional effort on your class.

This email from All of Mpls is full of defamation & slander. As the son of immigrants & a council member representing a large immigrant community, our community deserves to know whenever ICE is present. This agency separates families & tears communities apart. People need to check their privilege.
All of Mpls - the millionaire PAC supporting Jacob Frey - is now attacking Omar Fateh & Jason Chavez for “attempting to stop” a fentanyl investigation; neither did any such thing. Both alerted community to ICE in the Feds’ raids - which even Frey called excessive. Just foul Trumpy stuff here.
