We bought a 2026 calendar from TG Jones, month to a page. It starts off okay but Weds 14th Jan is followed by Friday 15th and the 16th has no name.

UK public has paid £200bn to shareholders of key industries since privatisation.

In public ownership that would have gone into infrastructure, lower bills.

Privatisation delivered low investment, high bills, no tax on dividends to foreign investors.

No end to nightmare without public ownership.

This is shocking but not surprising. While private jets are the worst offenders, all flights are massively undertaxed.
NEW | Our latest research exposes just how lightly private jet users are taxed — and how much the UK is losing because of it.

It’s time the biggest polluters paid their share.

The pub that's banning solo drinkers hasn't thought it through. They only need to hang around outside until another one comes along and go in together.
Or am I missing something?

Having just read Adrian Chiles' column in a recent Guardian and casting about for the words to do him justice, an expression of my dear departed grandmother comes to mind: "He's neither use nor ornament".

Okay, I can't let this one go. I live in Ireland, not the UK, but the use of this image by a supposedly socialist party is so stupid and offensive, I'm going to get stuck in.

Let me explain to you why any experienced illustrator/designer could have stopped you making so many miserable mistakes. 1/

Laws bent for the rich.

Wages taxed at marginal rates of 20% – 45% plus national insurance contributions (NIC).

Capital gains taxed at 18% to 32%, no NIC .

Dividends taxed at 8.75% to 39.35%, no NIC.

Return on wealth must not be taxed at lower rates.
Nothing will change until the political system is freed from the clutches of corporations and the super-rich
The law is being used to enforce existing power structures for the benefit of the few
