Some distrust of Supreme Court is warranted but exaggerated criticisms like this are damaging

To assume S Ct will always collapse & side with Trump only encourages apathy & hopelessness, and **is just inaccurate.

The Court has issued plenty of decisions against Trump (see almost all of 1/3

This is absolutely insane. Musk’s DOGE crew just straight up *took* $80 million from an NYC bank account!
Okay what is going on here. Are the accounts at a private banking entity? Does the federal government have direct debit permission set up? So many questions as to how Treasury instructed this payment. (Via NY Post’s Craig McCarthy)

New article from me and Alan Cohen on the House & Senate budget resolutions.

This is very, very real, and we need to organize against it immediately.

It sets up a filibuster-proof process that would allow the GOP trifecta to enact it w/out any Dem support.

For anyone interested in helping with legal cases against Trump's actions, here is a summary of what has been brought so far.
Gratifying to see @axios.com use the data from the @justsecurity.org Litigation Tracker (and with credit given, etc.).

The very kind of public education outcome we had in mind.

Valuable infographic here.⤵️

Trump's assault on our rights is not theoretical, it's happening before our eyes.

But the past couple of weeks have also made one thing clear: Trump's illegal & dangerous policies will not go unanswered.

We are fighting back like our lives depend on it, because they do!

It's an intriguing part of Congress acquiescing to this coup. The GOP spent 45 years making the federal gov't subsidize red states and rural areas. E.g., if some greasy incel uses "fraud detection AI" to cut unusually high proportions of SSI/SSDI recipients, that'd be West Virginia (9.6%).
Just learned from NPR that the federal government is the largest employer in the great Kansas City area, for example. I found it helpful to be reminded that, of course, this isn’t just about people who work and live in DC. Federal employees are in all of our communities.

Musk's "deferred resignation" contract is a TRAP.

Anyone who signs it WAIVES all rights to pursue legal action against the government -- including TO ENFORCE THE RESIGNATION AGREEMENT ITSELF.

So Musk and Trump can just break the contract, and there's nothing you can do.

seen some folks asking about lawyers who help federal employees so:

1. obviously, you can call us. we'll try to fit you in considering ~everything~

2. go to MWELA.org. that's the plaintiff's employment bar association in the DMV. go to NELA.org nationally. search for lawyers who do federal work.

I do the same, except that it's 100% personal. Energy vampires are bad people engaging in despicable behavior, and I want them to know good people look down on them with contempt.

It's okay to feel defeated and nihilistic, but when you try to make that contagious, you deserve the scorn you get.
Please know that if you reply to me with any variation on "calling doesn't matter"/"no one's listening"/"X action is pointless" I'm going to mute or block you. Not personal. Feel your feelings and I hope you find a way to take SOME action. I just don't have the spoons to deal with doomerism rn.
