Dopamine deficient, neurally unpruned, multi minded, too many words, too many books, too many podcasts, too much data analytics, question everything because I don't know anything.
Yes.

I need to quit my job so I have time to learn theatrical lighting, stonemasonry, printmaking, welding, bushcraft, tattooing, forestry, gymnastics, filmmaking, pedal steel guitar, lost-wax casting, jazz drumming, weaving, graffiti, carpentry, snowboarding, blacksmithing, and navigation

I've been having this thought, too. My empathy for people old enough to know better is exhausted - I'm much more interested in reaching younger people and enabling their critical thinking and resilience. The mess that's coming is going to fall on their shoulders.
i need to start a social media empire catering to young men except instead of encouraging them to become insane loners who hate women it teaches them things like how to take care of their skin, make a nice vodka penne, do their laundry properly, etc

Wondering ... Elon Musk has grownish children, similar age to the DOGEbros ... why aren't they doing DOGE? Why aren't they helping him run his companies? He clearly thinks people that age are capable given how he's using them to RESTRUCTURE THE FUCKING GOVERNMENT. Maybe I just missed it?

Weekend ritual:
1) Knitting (pic)
2) Listening (Blueprint for Armaggedon I)
3) Thinking (Is the current US administration intentionally creating realignment of allies similar to what happened prior to WWI? As in, do we have our own Kaiser Wilhelm(s)? If true, what does the new alignment look like?)

Just my little peon opinion: MAGA isn't the only party destroying this country. If it's a constitutional crisis FUCKING ACT LIKE IT. You were elected TO LEAD, and if you aren't willing to stand on business get out of the way for those that will.
I'm going to resist the urge to dunk and say, look, this is how some of the most loyal Democrats I've ever encountered are reacting. Schumer is quite literally breaking the party with his betrayal and there will be hell to pay.
i'll eat shit, i genuinely did not think schumer would force members of the caucus to go out on limbs for days and then fuck them, even if i think he makes good arguments for it. incredibly poor leadership, and i don't think he can lead the caucus, especially if we ever get the majority back.

3) Thinking (How much is the current state of affairs the result of fear? How rational is that fear? What "intellectual contagions" are we experiencing?)

Truth is I'm a dillentant and don't really know anything. Anyone else seeing connections? I'm not hearing it in my media channels, but recs welcome!

Wouldn't be ironic if they caused a depression then scarred GenAlpha comes to power creates an Ameican social democracy? 🤣
Ya know, Dan Carlin's Hardcore History Desparate Times episode was riiiiiggggghhht there. Like, this has been done before ... nothing fucking new under the sun. And it's all so stupid that we are doing it again, barely out of living memory.

Keeping myself sane - RAW writing has always stayed with me, and I find myself coming back to his thinking lately. In particular reality tunnels, hyper sigils and hilaritas ... especially HILARITAS because when you step back ... It. Is. All. Absurd.

This is one of my aboalute favorite Duran Duran songs ... I was a HUGE fan as a teenager in the 1980s. The New Romantics where my jam ...
They named the band after the villain in Barbarella. Highly recommend all their albums but in particular Rio and Seven and the Ragged Tiger are 🤌

On top of everything being terrible, I was finally cornered into completing my annual "goals assessment and personal review" for work. Of all the meaningless corporate bulls*@&#&×&#^__@<&@. I fucking HATE it ... so I did it while listening 👇

There can never be too many:
> Accessories to knit
> Candles to burn
> Quilts to sew
> Sneezes to blow
> Books to read
> Beads to string
> Brainfire notes to take
> Recipes to try
> Dogs to pet

I love all of it! ❤️

When I get a day like today off, one that not everyone gets off, it feels like a 'bonus' day ... like I have to spend it the *right* way and get *meaningful* things done ... this results in wasting some amount of time (sometimes the whole day) in an anxiety spiral 👇

With all this* going on, I'm thinking about Butlerian jihads and going for some instant gratification knitting.

I am feeling this whole post and all the comments. I don't work on the socials, but I do work in digital transformation and business analytics, so I'm kinda I the space and the last few years has been ... dispirating. Everything is too many buzzwords, moving to fast and creating nothing of quality.
I honestly think we are experiencing the end of the internet as those of us born in the 20th c understand it. Smaller, siloed communities like discord servers and newsletters will persist, but the idea of the global public square is dead, as is “the information superhighway.” VCs killed it.
it genuinely sucks that basically nothing on the internet works well anymore. search? barely works. social media? filled with garbage engagement-bait designed to game the algorithm. news websites? pages that refresh at random or so covered in video ads that it’s impossible to read stories
