Homage is also only used as a pejorative when it comes to Chinese brands. When a mainstream brand like Christopher Ward or Citizen references a Blancpain or Submariner, reviewers say "inspired by," if they mention it at all.

It's kind of weird coming to as an adult to things you hated as a child and realising it's actually good.

this looks very good and I’ll try thx. my much lazier version:

Chop cabbage, add to pan with salt, oil & splash of water, cover till cabbage turns brighter green (not to total softness), remove lid turn up heat, microplane nice pile of frozen ginger on top (grate/ much easier when frozen), sauté

In the Bangladeshi dialect I grew up speaking it’s pronounced “bhaazi” and usually referred to any sort of fried vegetable. Aloo bhaazi - fried potatoes, maas bhaazi - fried fish etc

“Bhaji” just means ”fried”
November 23, 2025 at 2:07 PM
I *MUST* give it a try, I meant.

the way the Irish typically cook it is to overcook it, so it releases sulphur and makes you gag

cooking it like this doesn’t do that at all it’s very nice I also will cook cabbage and eat it all week with whatever meat leftovers, etc
