Nothing gives me joy like finishing 3 books in 3 days. I read Assistant to the Villain by Hannah Nicole Maehrer, Adrift in Currents Clean and Clear by Seanan McGuire, and The Space Cat by Nnedi Okorafor. Adrift in Currents was probably my favorite. The Space Cat was first graphic novel of the year.

I finished Endling by Reva last night and this novel will stay with me for a long time. It was so good.

Just found out the farmland and mature deciduous forest next door will be sold. It has vernal pools, trout lilies, orchids, newts, and salamanders. I’m feel sick. It will likely be clear cut for houses.

I leave Merlin recording when doing yard work so that I can check it and see if it picked up a new-to-me bird. Tonight I very clearly heard a bird say “witchy witchy witchy” so I checked. Common Yellow Throat. Couldn’t find it. Was almost dark. I hope it will still be here in the morning.
