🌱 Just sprouted: Seeds frozen since the Ice Age...revived by Brazilian scientists! Nearly 20,000 years old, these ancient plants are *unlike anything alive today* and may hold lost medicinal traits. Sometimes, the future grows best when we plant the past. #SciSky #EcoSky #TLSky #EduSky

Good night from my beautiful Avalon, sunset tonight. Less than one week from Summer Solstice. The days are long, the nights are short and I am getting more and more tired 😂

As the sun broke through the mist today here in Glastonbury. I though the sun really made the stone of Glastonbury Abbey glow while the sky remained overcast apart from a gap where the sun broke through.

"Tariff" was a word born out of Mediterranean trade. It likely traces to the Arabic 'ta'rif', meaning "list of items or fees to be paid", from verb 'arafa' meaning "he teaches, he made known".

The word was shared so quickly it's hard to trace:
Arabic ->Persian->Turkish->Latin->Italian ->French
If it weren’t for trade, there’d be no “tariff”
The word “tariff” goes all the way back to Arabic.

I’m thinking that we’ve seen the last of major snow here in the Pacific Northwest where I live. So today I’m sharing an image from a few years ago of one of my favorite waterfalls blanketed in a foot of fresh powder. Hiking in and out of here was a treat that day being the first ones on this trail.

I really miss the opportunity to play dnd with a group… I have not the time nor the people to do so, but I always loved illustrating stuff that happened during the sessions… maybe one day I can do it again✨🥹✨

I wonder what it would have been like to live in a generation with boundless optimism about the future. How do we find personal peace and growth in a society in decline? I've always turned to wilderness for solace, but is that just temporary escapism? Perhaps, but it's still mandatory for my sanity.

Trees, fog and flowers are a combination that is pretty hard to beat! I was lucky enough to be able to visit The Redwoods three years in a row and experience some beautiful conditions. Here is a favorite from one foggy evening. #landscape #intimatelandscape #photography #Redwoods

Life finds a way. In the deepest reaches of our oceans, on soaring mountains, in the driest deserts, in worlds of ice or searing temperatures, life finds a way. Ever so briefly, an ivory gull rests on a cathedral of ice before it flies off, the astonishing beauty gone, perhaps forever. Greenland.
