This is a very nice list, with many of my favorite books. (Not all of them of course.)
Change that to "short test for any one planning to run for office" and I'd support it.
Along those same lines, every once in a while I'll get cranky and start fantasizing about testing people for basic civic literacy before they're allowed to vote. It tends to lasts about 2-3 seconds before my long-term memory tags in. 😖
