RIP Mani. Contributed to the raw fuel of my teenage passions in the 90s.
Always had a soft spot for the trippy mess of the Primal Scream Vanishing Point album.

Somehow we're most of the way through November?

I guess I can officially mention the 'C' word, but if you know a pet lover who would love a unique portrait of their dog, cat, or even horse, I've opened a few pet portrait slots for the festive period!

More details on my website, see link in bio.

My sister (who isn’t much of a reader) recently told me she’s keen to read more supernatural horror, and she’d rather read work on the shorter side (novella / short novel / anthologies). Does anyone have any recs?
Especially:
- supernatural
- fast paced and punchy
- no SA pls
- character driven

So now would be a great time to get something from my shop or if you felt like leaving a little something in my Ko-fi.

Still makes me chuckle…
Miriam Margolyes on The Age of Innocence: ‘I said to Mr Scorsese ‘Why do you have so many English actors in this? Why are you making a film about posh types when your milieu has always been the criminal gangs of New York?’ And he said ‘Because I’m interested in brutality.’

We lived in a pub when I was growing up and when I was 3 (50 years ago!) we had someone in to draw the pub for a business card. I sat next to him and watched him draw every line. I was transfixed and it was a huge inspiration for me. I’ve dreamt about owning that drawing for years…

The real issue isn’t immigration, it’s the feedback loop: platforms amplify anxiety → voters feel it → politicians chase it → hollow policy follows. Until we break that cycle, we won’t get functional decisions or functional democracy.

My life has been somewhat erratic over the last few months and I have not had a great deal of time in my workshop and this time is certainly precious at the moment. But I have managed to immerse myself in the process of creating to make a few pieces for Old Chapel Gallery, Herefordshire.

i just read something about grief from C.S. Lewis and his book, “A Grief Observed”

basically, when someone you love dies, it isn’t just them that you miss, but the parts of yourself that person brought out of you that can never be brought out again.

i feel that with my dad.

Glazing in watercolour is time-consuming. Though that's perhaps a redundant explanation, given that everything is time-consuming when I attempt it. 😮‍💨🙁😑
