RIP to my only childhood pet that was, unbelievably, still alive up until yesterday. Jake finally tapped out after what we have estimated to be 35 years of life. I’ve known him longer than anyone else in my life apart from my parents, and I’m really gonna miss seeing him when I visit home.

I don't know why but seeing him voting in my old polling place made me feel wistful about the city in a way I haven't felt since I moved. Shout out to Frank Sinatra School of the Arts, and here's to (hopefully) better days for the city ahead.

This is the first Halloween we've had here where it really feels like Halloween outside. It's cold and windy, tons of leaves blowing around after a big storm. Ominous John Carpenter synths are wafting through the air. There's a guy with a machete on my lawn. Picture perfect holiday.

new Katamari is probably the best of the post-Keita efforts, but it still has that same intangible problem as the rest of them, in that it doesn't have the same spirit as the first two games. this new one is weird in very agreeable ways, and the soundtrack is excellent. but the aura is still...off.

Skate Story is the best Nextfest demo I've tried so far. you're a demonic skater trying to eat the moon and getting menaced by philosophy cops. I learned to ollie by touching a forbidden monolith. parts of it are soundtracked like a Jon Bois video. can't recommend enough.

If the US can ever vomit this stupid era out we're gonna need widespread all-ages education on basic facts like when you'd see old billboards or MST3k shorts advertising the concept of hand washing or being good. Stop Using Gasoline To Wash Clothes. Springs Are Ubiquitous & Essential To Modern Life
