on a related note, for the first time since my ex-girlfriend broke up with me 2.5 years ago, my therapist has agreed that I'm in a good enough place to go back down to sessions once every three weeks (I was at once a week for about a year and then at once every two weeks ever since)

also thinking about how much emotional work I had to put in to be able to withstand what I can handle now... a year and a half ago I couldn't even flirt with someone without thinking I was denigrating the love I shared with my ex. a year ago I couldn't go on a first date without crying. and now!
I've been back on the apps consistently since January (AND going to a variety of queer dating events and running my OWN femme4femme speed dating event multiple times!) and I AM sad that I've only had disappointments but I also know that the only way I don't find my partner is if I stop trying

as a grantwriter, the lack of unrestricted funding is a MASSIVE burden on nonprofits. everyone wants to fund a new shiny pilot program that makes them look like innovators. they don’t want to help make your tried and tested programs that have served the community for 50 years more sustainable

Carol Sturka is a stronger woman than me because when my ex-girlfriend broke up with me, I felt like I couldn't move for the better part of two years. I definitely could not muster the energy to try to figure out how the mysterious hivemind is staying connected to one another if my wife died
thinking deeply about Carol Sturka watching Helen die, losing her again when the hive abandons her (even if she doesn't want to admit it), and facing the prospect of losing her a THIRD time when the coyotes try to dig up Helen's grave... I can't take this

sorry I'm still not over this if this musical hasn't a) played Toronto no less than 4 times in the past 20 years and b) EXISTED SINCE THE YEAR 2003 (and let's be so real, so many of the lesbians in that audience tonight were absolutely born in 2003 or later)

I’m pretty sure that when Miriam Shor was in Andrew Lippa’s The Wild Party and sang “I need a good-natured, old-fashioned lesbian love story,” she wasn’t talking about contracting a hive mind virus and dying of head trauma and a seizure in the arms of her partner, but that’s what Pluribus gives us

I have not had the house to myself in months (I live with my younger brother) and I actually don't think there's a more elite way to spend an evening than sitting on the couch in my underwear eating fried Halloumi sticks and reading a book under my heated blanket
