I’ve been alive 2 times when our country was attacked: 9/11 & 1/6
1/6 was an attack on our nation from inside the government.
I remember screaming at the tv - where is the national guard? Why is nobody stopping them?

There’s a whole thing in Hanukah about how you’re supposed to “publicize the miracle” except that there are all sorts of exceptions in times of danger.

Just spent an invigorating 45 minutes thinking The Bitty had slipped outside and was gone forever, because I could not find her ANYWHERE. Not under furniture, not in closets. She didn’t come out when I rattled her food bin, for crying out loud. Only when I involved my husband did she materialize.

I understand the anger at leaders not doing what we hoped for. However the blame & vitriol adds to the polarization that is so toxic today. I’m trying to be compassionate & also - none of us know how this story is going to end. It might surprise us. Spewing hate is not the answer. End of sermon.
