Using job fake job postings just to boost numbers for a quarterly earnings call can potentially make thousands of people waste their time filling out a form that nobody will see. This has tangible harm.

The end goal is to mislead investors about the health of a company. It benefits nobody. 3/3

I’m sure the quoted response comes from a place of frustration as a job recruiter, and I get it. But, if you acclimate people to dishonest job postings, expect dishonest candidates.

Ghost jobs harm recruiters as much as they do applicants and shareholders. 2/3

Lastly, I would love to go back and see what some of y'all were posting about this. Too bad I deleted my Twitter. Personally, I think Bernie was wrong. But the people who said he was sexist for even suggesting it, well, pretty some of them were you.

Racism didn't end before Barack Obama got elected President, and sexism won't end before the first woman gets elected President. Nobody arguing either side of this position thinks otherwise!

We're talking about Presidential candidates. They have self-selected to be everyone's business. bsky.app/profile/dee-...
Personally I think that a man should probably shut his trap in conversations about misogyny and misogynoir bc guess what, every candidate EVER has problems. But women are the ones whose imperfections are a dealbreaker bc if we're not perfect we're useless.
Personally, I think the idea that all women should be measured by the failures of Hillary Clinton and Kamala Harris is actually a sort of sexist doomerism.

Elections decided by narrow outcomes can be blamed on a long list of causes. Yes, one of those is people, who might otherwise vote for male clones, sat out. But thats asking us to privilege an explanation that obscures what a candidate can change in favor of ones they cant. bsky.app/profile/andr...
A good object lesson in how easy it is even for self-described leftists to fall into the conservative mindset of “nonono, there’s no systemic discrimination, individual quality is what decided those outcomes”

Don't disagree; am objecting narrowly to the idea Harris and Clinton losing Presidential elections should lead to pessimistic conclusions about a vague national "readiness" for a woman POTUS. These oppressions exist in places that have elected women, it's not *just* that. bsky.app/profile/karn...
I promise you my take as a Black woman in America is that America isn't ready for women to actually have equality, much less Black women. And I am nowhere near her level, but America can't handle perceived power much less actual power being in the hands of women

Some responses to quotes, first to @ebonyteach.blacksky.app: I also applied it to John Kerry & Al Gore, suggesting that their failures would also not be an indictment of men were we living in opposite world. It's more complicated than that, but I didn't forget. FTR: Biden would have failed harder.

If we lived in a completely fictional alternative reality in which women ruled everything, and the potential of men was measured by the political ceilings of John Kerry and Al Gore, I wouldn't be drawing any broad conclusions about men either.
