ICE pretended to arrest a 21 yo in order to force her to call her undocumented mother to come leave the house (where she was safe from ICE arrest) to care for her baby. When the mother came, she was abducted and the daughter was suddenly of no interest to ICE.

One of the NYPD brass said “this isn’t blue bloods” when explaining they can’t just immediately find the guy and I like that years of copaganda have set standards cops can’t meet and might be contributing to people’s correct perception that cops don’t effectively stop crime or find killers.

I realize the effect of social media on mental health is poorly understood by science, all I know is that the behaviors that are common on twitter would be considered antisocial behavior if not an outright a personality disorder if observed in everyday life 30 years ago.
