I posted this on X when it came out, but since everyone has now moved to BlueSky, I'll repost. Gist is that the left edge of a PSMC plot has information about pop structure and shows that the Neandertal pop was structured. peercommunityjournal.org/articles/10....
Genetic Evidence for Geographic Structure within the  Neanderthal Population

I recently moved my lab to Purdue University and am looking for graduate students. We are working at the interface of population genomics, quantitative genetics and functional genomics to understand how plants adapt to extreme environments. Reach out if you would like to discuss potential projects.

I've received some information from a local about the individual accused of being the SLC shooter (who did not fire, was shot by 'official' security who also hit and killed an unrelated person

He'd done armed protesting before. Dressed more radically. Was a little awkward. no more than that
The shooting at the Salt Lake City protest is strange. The guy with the AR never fired it, and instead appears to have been engaged by "peacekeepers" or protest "security" in yellow security vests?
Moment of the shooting at 0:02 in this video. I believe the guy partially hidden fired at Gamboa, and struck someone marching in the street behind him. The mortally wounded man was tended to near the blue Mazda near the red X. h/t @mrsissy.bsky.social for vid

100 days into this presidency, Americans are paying the price - higher prices, crashing retirement accounts, and broken promises.

But the American people are turning, thanks to your voices. Keep it up.

It's up to us to demand something better.

@pkrugman.bsky.social makes it simple: "Why do people work? Not to be able to boast that they ran trade surpluses with their employers — `Hey, they paid me a lot, and I hardly bought anything from them.' No, people sell their labor so that they can afford to buy stuff."

Why did 77m voters choose Trump?

We now have data comparing the attitudes and values of American voters with people around the world. And it turns out that Republicans align their values very closely with Russia and Turkey, and to a slightly lesser degree China. www.thebulwark.com/p/new-data-r...
