yes, Mamdani *is* radical on immigration by the standards of most major European politicians - name the major European politicians who advocate for immigrants, especially non-white ones, as human beings and not just mere economic units. It’s a short list and we all know it is.
Yes and yet several European countries are embracing a far-right worldview that would burn these policies to the ground, so let’s be not be smug or complacent here - particularly as Mamdani‘s pro-immigration stance is radical by European standards.

Every compromise is more dead & injured people of all sorts. And it doesn’t matter, Ford still banned them. So stop compromising & take a real stand. All this does is make drivers feel more emboldened to drive dangerously.

I will be teaching my grad seminar on nationalism next semester and am looking to change some readings. In particular, I'm looking for books/articles on exclusionary nationalism in the US, diasporic nationalism, and anticolonial nationalism. However, I'm open to suggestions on any topic. 🗃️ 1/
