For some reason, I'm suddenly recalling how all of MAGA has been claiming that Biden's pardons don't count because they were done by "autopen" meaning he didn't really know about them or approve them. Not sure why I'm suddenly thinking about that, but it just sprang to mind.
O'DONNELL: Why did you pardon Changpeng Zhao?
TRUMP: Are you ready? I don't know who he is
O'DONNELL: His crypto exchange Binance helped facilitate a $2b purchase of World Liberty Financial's stablecoin. And they you pardoned him.
TRUMP: Here's the thing -- I know nothing about it

My co-founder and I just launched the First Amendment Law Society. In a time of rising censorship, we built space for law students to speak, dissent, and shape the future. Grateful to our school @jmiers230.bsky.social. Say it. Mean it. Make it matter.
FALS is now live! We founded the First Amendment Law Society to protect uncomfortable, unpopular, and unfiltered speech in an age of government censorship. No allegiance to ideology—just the Constitution. Say it. Mean it. Make it Matter.

"The party told you to reject the evidence of your eyes and ears. It was their final, most essential command…. And if all others accepted the lie which the Party imposed–if all records told the same tale–then the lie passed into history and became truth." —George Orwell, 1984 This past weekend witnessed what may have been the largest single-day political protest in American history.

This weak, brazen attempt by Stephen Miller both to chill free speech and to set up a premise to criminalize it — and, to be clear, this is the very type of speech most central to First Amendment protections — would be laughably embarrassing if this man did not have the power that he has.

When Supporting Your Boss Becomes a Federal Crime: Trump DOJ Investigates Faculty for Backing Their President
The Trump administration's war on higher education has reached new levels of authoritarian absurdity. Not content with merely investigating George Mason University and its president Gregory Washington for his diversity efforts, the Department of Justice has now decided to investigate the faculty members who dared to support him. Yes, you read that correctly. Federal agents are now demanding drafts of faculty resolutions, private communications between professors, and correspondence with the president's office—all because the Faculty Senate had the audacity to pass a resolution supporting their university's leadership.

I thought the TikTok ban was an idiotic moral panic and a gross curtailment of expressive freedom, but I’m at least as uncomfortable about a scenario where a platform with 170m US users exists entirely on the personal sufferance of Donald Trump (or any president).
A failure of journalism. Neither the push nor the NBC News article notes that THIS IS ILLEGAL. The law allows a one-time delay. That’s it! www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news...
