Sewage dumping illegal in the EU, is normalized.

More houses built without water infrastructure investment.

This is so wrong!! We’ve already paid for that investment. 🤬🤬
Water bills to rise 20% (£86) plus inflation in April and then above inflation for the next four years. @Ofwat gives private water companies in England the go-ahead to make customers pay for the investment they have failed to do for 30 years while enriching shareholders and bosses

Thames Water fined £18.2m for 'unjustified' £131.3m dividend to shareholders.

At the same time OFWAT allows Thames to hike customer bills by 35%.

Capital raised from customers who will own nothing, shareholders will get returns.

Privatisation is a scam.

Thames Water fined £18m over dividends but granted 35% bills hike by 2030
The ruling falls well short of a 59% bills hike requested by the troubled water company, as it tries to secure a bailout from investors.

Exactly. Completely own goal @teamlabouruk.bsky.social
Many legit policy reasons for making this decision. The issue is implying in opposition Labour would provide redress and then not doing. That sort of thing is bad enough normally (see tuition fees). But with trust in politics so low this has the potential to be even more corrosive

UK govt wrong to deny pension compensation to the 1950s women.

Ombudsman urged apology and compensation. Govt apologized but no compensation.

No point of an independent report if recommendations ignored.

Gloucestershire County Council unanimously called for the CEO of Thames Water to come to a special meeting and answer questions about pollution and sky rocketing water bills.

That meeting happened in Nov. The CEO didn’t show - sent representatives instead. No apology was issued.

If anyone is still wondering why we have a £22bn black hole here is just one example of Tory incompetence. Never ever allow them to again say “taxpayers money is safe with them”
So it turns out they spent £715 million on sending a grand total of FOUR volunteers to Rwanda.

For comparison, this is more than you could expect to spend on building an entire brand new hospital in the UK
In July, I FOI'd the Home Office for the full breakdown of spending on the Rwanda scheme

I was refused because the government planned to publish the data in future, and today is the day. These numbers are in millions

Important context here:

● over half of farms are less than 49 acres (20 hectares)

● "a big farm" is 217 acres.

Now let's see who's angry:

● Clarkson farm is 1,000 acres
● Lloyd Webber farms 4,000 acres
● Viscount Rothermere (Mail owner) 4,700 acres
● Dyson owns 36,000 acres
A message from a REAL farmer who hasn’t been brainwashed by the Tories, wealthy landowners and the right wing media👇🏽
