what is fascinating to me is the number of people whose “knowledge” of government appears to just be an accumulation of cliches and stereotypes + an inchoate sense that if something is big and costly then it must necessarily be “wasteful”
Interesting piece which reveals a lot of the tech bro ignorance of government: DOGEr comes in, expects to find lots of inefficiency, is at least willing to acknowledge he was wrong unlike the hard core ideologues.

It's kinda insane to me how many people on here react to article headlines and don't actually engage with content of the article itself sometimes. I'm pretty close to unfollowing some people for never actually checking what the content of an article is before taking a stance based on the headline.

I wake up every day depressed or angry but feel fine by mid day. Its so fucking weird feeling like I'm going through one of the best times of my life and yet the world around me has become even more cruel.

They literally removed the T from LGBTQ and erased any mention of trans people who were present at the Stonewall Riots. They're trying to erase us from history.

Really really starting to think that while we have been so focused on Trump, Elon Musk has become the far far bigger evil. He is the new prime driver of the information environment favoring lies and facism. The amount of money and influence he has makes him the most powerful person in the world.

Is it delusional? If you ran a national poll and asked people "Do you support the movement to defund the police", then I would definitely predict that the vast majority of the people saying "Yes" were Harris voters. And a lot of people don't want to associate with those yeses.
