Cohen's take is valuable, especially for already existing and publicly available, often quant, datasets. As someone who uses non-English language archival sources that I am legally not allowed to publish, I have been wondering how to take on this good intuition -- make research accessible
Delighted to receive the Charles Tilly Best Article Award from the American Sociological Association's Comparative Historical Sociology Section -- and in great company to boot!

JTS truly being one of the best things about sociology! Presented in 2015, co-organized it in 2016 with Clayton Childress. Excellent experience.
I did this in 2009, and met a ton of ppl I still count as friends, while also publically launching my theoretical thinking on institutions. Totally invaluable and meaningful. #sociology

Giving a talk at CU Boulder tomorrow and had joked with the wonderful colleague who invited me that if another plane accident happened before the scheduled talk date, I might ask to do an online talk instead. (I landed in Denver on a Delta flight today at noon today. Help.)

At the Int'l Assoc of Chiefs of Police's meeting, "the message to police chiefs seemed crystal clear: If your dept is slow to adopt AI, fix that now. The future of policing will rely on it in all its forms."

How the largest gathering of US police chiefs is talking about AI
Officers training in virtual reality, cities surveilled by webs of sensors, and AI-generated police reports are all a sign of what’s to come.

We are hiring a senior lecturer in sociology at Stockholm University.
It is an open position, we welcome all kinds of sociologists.
(But I would personally be very happy if political sociologists applied.)
