Don’t you think there should be a greater sense of urgency about understanding why 40% of women aged 15-44 want to permanently leave the United States?

Doesn’t this reflect a society in deep trouble?

We need to figure out what’s wrong.

“They want to divide the poor versus not-so-poor, in order for them to be able to get these tax cuts,” Mr. Gallego said. “They want to kick people off Medicaid. It is a very easy thing for a lot of us to be divided right now. The most important thing we can do this being united.”

It's perhaps a reflection of our extreme identity politics that estadounidenses visit Mexico City, talk to urban professionals (often women or gay), and are shocked to learn that Claudia Sheinbaum might be unpopular with some of them.

Fine to criticize Starmer's government for this, but you have to be clear about the alternative.

What specific steps -- key word: specific -- would you take instead to accomplish your stated goals?
Labour government will propose changes to the asylum system, on grounds it is 'excessively generous'.
