I feel like this would make Defined by Damnation a rom-com. Except instead of being about stopping an evil getting resurrected, it'd be about people trying to stop a good guy from being alive.
There would be no fantasy, and everyone would start off mentally healthy but go insane by the end.

Cecilia is tempted by fear of the alternative. She does not truly want to be Queen, but she has no idea who might take up the responsibility if she did not, not if it would be for the better or worse.
This isn't the case for every character, but for many of them the concepts go hand in hand. The results are not so valuable if they come at the cost of personal values like honour, and most of my characters try to strike a balance as much as they can.

Kinda crazy that I thought I actually had a chance to finish the Sun Eater series before book 7 came out.
That's SIX whole books + three more anthology books.

Not a certainty, but in between Defined by Damnation and Book 2 I may release a series of stories on my website. There are a few ideas I have, both within and outside of DbD's world, that wouldn't fit a full novel, but I would like to tell all the same.

This is kind of heartbreaking, but at least he's not fully lost. The article doesn't clarify who it was that originally said this, but Miller's willingness to quote them shows that he's really just considering ai's potential and not a brain-dead worshipper of it like the title suggests.

The latest news regarding my degrading computer is that it now randomly decides to make the UI either too big or too small...
I am praying that it at least allows me to publish Defined by Damnation before it decides to melt into oblivion and I need to find the funds for a new one.

The way Lokey dissects Dark Souls' lore (alongside The Silmarillion) very much inspired the way I will write out my own lore when worldbuilding. Writing lore in such a way that analyses itself has helped me to make history that isn't just dressing, but actually has some level of thematic relevance.
