Democratizing the arts looks like universal income, low-barrier grants for both emerging and working artists, well-funded municipal arts & recreation programs, vibrant third spaces, and a well-funded public school system with progressive curriculum.

Not a free pass for corporate-owned slop engines.

It’s a health hazard in itself, and can result in long term heath problems, including chronic illnesses such as me/cfs. (Ask me how I know… 😞) So, it’s absolutely crucial during this time to take care of yourself and, as much as possible, not get fully swept away in the stress of current events, as scary, nerve-wracking, infuriating, dangerous, and immediate as they are.
