Thanks Charlie for stating the facts i.e; Canada’s dental care plan was proposed and fought for by the NDP as was the national school food program, and are great examples of what can be achieved when governments work together.
Pierre Poilievre denounced the NDP's national dental care plan as "socialistic."
He told Jordan Peterson he would "fiercely resist" our socialist policies.
But his numbers are tanking.
Now he says he will support dental care.
You can't trust MAGA-MINI Pierre.

Read this series "Antidote to Autocracy." Highly recommended.

Jed Emerson is the thoughtful benign philosopher and practitioner of blended value and the purpose of an economy to support society, rather than the other way around. When he speaks, I listen and when he writes, I read.

I wanted to walk up to Government House but my physio told me to take it easy.

I still walked home and I may have overdone it. But we will see.

I mean, how do you not take a slightly longer route home on a gorgeous November day like today?!

Clearly the clock is ticking on the last leaves.

With everything going on these days, it’s easy to miss when local governments get up to some sketchy stuff.

Take Vancouver, where Mayor Ken Sims is planning to eliminate the city’s sustainability and climate department!!!

Yes, really.

My partners at @nationalobserver.com have the scoop:

The settling of North America has some very dark moments. But Canada chose to rise above the intolerance to build a country based on diversity, equity, inclusion, democracy.
Canada is a nation but it also a choice that we make.
And we will defend that choice.

In Western arts over time cats could be included in paintings as symbolic of ideas of mystery or female sensuality. Black cats particularly were associated with witches (aka wise women who had skills in healing).

Had to share this with @bikesky.social

Looking forward to police forces across the country asking drivers to leave their vehicles at home during Halloween. Prioritize the safety of ALL vulnerable road users.

h/t @jameswsthomson.com #VisionZero #BikeTO
Very frustrating to still see public campaigns like this from Delta PD telling kids to wear bright reflectors on their costumes and people to leave their bikes at home.

The risk to pedestrians on Halloween comes from drivers, not cyclists.

After way too long (7 years), construction will start on these parks next year. But it's Toronto so we'd never consider something like say... blocking off Wellington to car traffic through the park to connect it into one larger park.
