Can’t stress enough how harmful it is for prominent people to do glowing promotions for surveillance devices during the rise of authoritarianism and assaults on bodily autonomy.

Great news for accountability, congrats to all those who worked for years - at great risk - to document and advocate against this horrible man's crimes.
Currently #1 on Flightradar24 is #RPC5219, believed to be carrying former president of the Philippines Rodrigo Duterte, who is being flown to the Netherlands via Dubai after being arrested on an ICC warrant. www.flightradar24.com/RPC5219/396f...

"A truly transformative revolution requires a movement which will hold ourselves to the same level of accountability that we demand of the military. It requires us to question and challenge how we have normalised the everyday injustices around us."

@khinohmar.bsky.social well said, as usual

This is so dangerous. Many of the recipients of this support - which, btw, IS in the US's best interests - are under threat from their own governments, publishing this information will have severe consequences.

These scholarships are so far from what he says they are, I can't stand it. These are young people fleeing conflict and forced conscription, trying to get a better future and contribute to their communities. This was a literal lifeline and they took it away out of spite and ignorance.

People in the US need to realize that institutions are not going to swoop in and save you. This isnt doomerism though, it is a call to action

There are a million small actions that you can take right now to make your community stronger safer and more resilient to opression

That's real resistence
As U.S. braces for Trump, it could learn a lot from the Global South about what "resistance" really means
Going beyond hashtags and doing the real work of building community is our strongest defense against authoritarianism
