“Attomarker, which specialises in health diagnostic technologies, said it could now divide #LongCovid patients into three cohorts…
Prof Strain said: "This test has produced great results in a handful of case studies. This needs to be translated into a bigger trial”
An #Exeter-based research firm has developed what it believes is a "world first" breakthrough test to help confirm the existence of #LongCovid in some patients.

It could be done "via a simple finger prick test sent through the mail"

Over 20 million people died from Covid. 400 million have Long Covid

900 people a WEEK are still dying in the U.S. (that’s likely an undercount)

I will never understand how people’s anger over masks & mitigations led them to normalize mass death

Misinformation kills & it may be about to get worse.
It is truly wild that it is estimated that more than 20 million people died of Covid and the prevailing vibe is that the world overreacted. That is an astonishing toll! More people died of Covid in the US than in the Civil War. www.pbs.org/newshour/hea...
5 years after it appeared, things we know and still don't know about COVID
Five years after the virus that causes COVID emerged in China it still holds some mysteries.

“Do your own risk assessment” doesn’t work with an airborne virus that is as contagious as Covid

Disabled & covid cautious ppl are trying hard. We’re friggin exhausted. We’re always masking, many of us are mostly isolated except for healthcare settings

Wear a mask & make public spaces accessible!
“Well but people need to do their own risk assessment” no, we’re done with this too. If you see a person in a mask, or they’ve done their own risk assessment and you are a danger to their health. Be respectful and put on a damn mask.

“Well but masks are uncomfortable” so are bras and heels and stiff dress shirts and wool and tight jeans and eyebrow plucking and waxing. You’ll be uncomfortable for fashion or decorum, but not for the health of others?

If you’re doing everything you can to avoid COVID & you get sick anyways, you were failed by society. You did not fail.

You were failed by governments & public health who’ve abdicated all responsibility. By people who won’t take the most basic precautions.

It’s not your fault.

Today I got an old lover of mine and his partner to wear n95s in public again. I'm weeping with relief and joy. There are tears running down my face and they have been for an hour.

When people ask you to wear a mask, this is the relief they feel when you say yes.

But I reckon that's not the point.

I reckon the point is that rsv and flu are stepping with perfect timing into a field of damaged immune systems from the most recent huge covid wave.

Recombinants now amounting to 60% of UK Covid sequences, as of the latest data.

Hard to see a consistent front runner among them, and I don't think any one of them is going to cause a bump, but several together may cause a slight Christmas peak.

Healthcare workers have put their lives on the line for all of us since the start of the Covid pandemic in 2020. They deserve the best protection as SARS-CoV-2 continues to evolve and circulate, and, if nevertheless infected and chronically ill, if not disabled, the best care and recompensation.
More than 300 British HCWs with Long Covid are suing for compensation.

“They say their lives have been devastated by a host of severe health complications. Most cannot return to work and many are housebound”

Healthcare facilities MUST mandate respirators & clean air. Patients & staff are suffering

Safeguard your health - because when you get Long Covid you will realize just how hard it is to get help.

Many doctors aren’t keeping up with the research - and those who are have ridiculous patient loads and you might wait YEARS for treatment.

This is not sustainable.
