We’re reading ARBITRARY LINES, the urbanist classic that pairs perfectly with a beverage and some holiday downtime. Join us at the Lynx Books on Fri, Dec 19 at 6pm. You can borrow the book from the Alachua County Library, online at UF with a UFID, or the old fashioned ways.

The US is the only nation that hamstrings employers with the cost of health insurance.

We don’t hold employers responsible for other basic needs like food, housing or basic education, why in the world do we insist that employers be part of the nation’s health infrastructure?

This is stupid. #M4A

Donald Trump’s biggest campaign promise was to lower costs on Day One.

Well, it's Day 215 of the Trump administration.

The price of groceries is up.
The price of utilities is up.
The price of health care is up.
Trump’s campaign promise was to lower costs on Day One.

Practically speaking, how do we bring down housing costs?

Last month, the Senate Banking Committee unanimously passed a bill that will use the power of the federal government to help communities across the country build more housing.

This is what happens when our cities don't build enough housing. 1400 homes get built in the far exurbs of our cities (in this case Cle Elum) on 800 acres of forest land. Deforestation alone doesn't account for the emissions from vehicles commuting in and out of these homes, either.
