What’s the word for when you’ve burned all the way out but you just have to keep going or else you die? Oh, right- late stage capitalism

I’ve often wondered about the circumstances that led my grandparents to flee Poland and come to the US- I didn’t think I’d have to live through them myself.

I have spent my entire time in paramedic school horrifically overcaffeinated, overtired, and dehydrated. I’ve spent my entire night off glued to the couch, clutching my emotional support water bottle, listening to my emotional support podcasts. 😴

Do I care about football? No. But I love a silly bit, and the city of Philadelphia certainly knows how to commit to one, so Go Birds 🦅

Your transit system needs frequency and good routing more than it needs electric or hydrogen buses.

Pick the vehicle that lets you maximize those, and you made a good transit system.

Why is the story of every mediocre cishet white man just “once I felt wronged by a woman, and now every mistake I’ve ever made in life since that day, is no longer my fault”.

Do you know why a president would do all the most evil and heinous shit via Executive Order? Because his party can't easily make it law. And if they can't make it law, they can't make it last.

Don't let anyone make you feel like this is The End. Do not let them demoralize you. Live to see them die.

I work in a community with a large volume of recently arrived immigrants. Our 911 call volume has dropped practically overnight in response to the current administrations deportation policies. People are afraid, and that fear will lead to people dying

The price of eggs in the US is spiking, mostly due to #H5N1 bird flu. Solving the problem requires urgent, important communications from the CDC & FDA* and rapid development of research by the NIH**

* Currently paused by Executive Order
** Grant reviews now all canceled

Egg prices are soaring again. Here’s why and what to expect
Bird flu has killed millions of hens in recent weeks, shrinking the supply of eggs and hiking up prices at grocery stores.

I love that Eric Adams -- after doing absolutely nothing as Mayor and getting caught committing a bunch of oafish crimes -- comes out and says he doesn't feel like a Democrat anymore.

Like...thank you? Honestly best case scenario for the Democratic brand

The thing that bothers me about Europeans who won't shut up about Americans using cars is they really do not seem to get that in large parts (I would even say the majority!) of the country, even in major cities, you cannot function without either a car on reliance on someone who has one
