It takes an obscene amount of hubris to lecture the BBC when you have The Telegraph’s record on truth-telling.

Some of the paper’s errors this year are so bad they’re almost laughable 👇🏻

A paper that knows a thing or two about editorial f*ck-ups...

Remember: the government was able to shut down the entire country and create sundry criminal offences during Covid, just by using statutory instruments.

Do not underestimate what an illiberal government could do with these already existing wide legal powers.

What's the difference between tax avoidance, tax non-compliance and tax evasion?

This.

Likely Ms Rayner is in category 4 - "non-compliant".

Almost four years out from an election & paying *the actual fucking Taliban* to torture & murder people who risked their lives to escape them is getting the full ‘both sides’ treatment in Brexit Britain.

I knew my in-depth knowledge of the Guardian's 00s sports pages would one day come in handy. They wrote about this: www.theguardian.com/football/200...
Knowledge: the footballers that don't really like football
The Knowledge: Plus: football-inspired albums (2); what do Greuther Fürth have to do with Celtic?; and who foundered Hellas Verona?

It's very strange. Every time I see Mark Gino François sitting on the front bench, with his little legs dangling, I have an overwhelming urge to give him a biscuit.

They should go on strike for better terms & conditions. I’m sure all the right-wing gobshites clutching their pearls about VAT will be right behind them…

I think, essentially, the difference between Boris Johnson and Kemi Badenoch is that Boris Johnson was "couldn't be arsed" lazy. Badenoch is "I don't think I need to do any preparation" lazy.
Kemi’s main success so far is to make Boris Johnson columns seem like the product of forensic thinking from a hardworking leader.
Kemi Badenoch is delivering a speech tomorrow. Here are the pre-briefed extracts in all their incoherent glory.

I would once have wondered which Trump fluffer in the UK would fold first. Post-Jan 6, I realise this credits them with a scintilla of integrity that they simply don't possess. Hoping to be proved wrong. As usual.
