I need some kind of Master Class on utilizing different herbs with different flavor profiles.

Especially the unusual ones that are hard to find at a grocery store but I can grow in my garden.

Teach me the secrets of chervil and Syrian oregano please.

Sometimes when I get sunburn, I joke to myself "aw yiss, feel that carryover cooking" and then I wonder why I thought that was a funny joke.

Gardening is a silly hobby. I have a watch tan and May hasn't even started yet.

Aside from all the known horrors of working in the federal government right now, it is next to impossible to get things done because THERE IS NOBODY AROUND TO DO IT. I have been wasting so much more time finding people that can still do certain tasks and I hate it.

A British-Egyptian team has made one of the most significant Egyptian archeological finds in recent history: the tomb of pharaoh King Thutmose II, who ruled sometime between 2000 and 1001 BCE. This is the first tomb of a pharaoh unearthed since Tutankhamun’s in 1922.

Today I have found joy in burning a stack of homebrew Dreamcast discs to CD-R and labeling them in Sharpie with 2000's era h4x0rz iconography

And they asked me why I insisted on having an optical media drive... 😎

Saw a thing talking about dad music and the comments blew up saying "that's not dad music, that's Gen X!"

Hate to break it to you my dudes, but my child is a legal adult, we are the dads now.

My spouse caught a teeny sanguini in Dragon Quest Monsters and named it Sandwich. This brings me an inordinate amount of joy in a time when I really need it.

I did it! I have replicated the food of my people! Smoked cured fish! It's steelhead, not salmon, cuz that was on sale, but it's delicious!

Okay, so you're using Signal for encrypted messaging. Cool. It's a good time to use usernames instead of a phone number to talk to people. That and lots more about how to make the most of Signal's security features in here: freedom.press/digisec/blog...

Replied all with the "this is not an airport, no need to announce your departure" meme when someone flounced on the book review committee I'm on for local schools. Didn't realize they had included the entire board of ed and superintendent.

Feels like I should be embarrassed but I'm kinda proud...

Weekends are so refreshing. Time to get started on the full time jobs I do for myself in the narrow slot between the one I do for money!

This is both sincere and facetious 🤷

I remember playing with a chatbot like this (probably an adaptation of this) when I was younger. The way it prompted the user was very engaging and great for brainstorming and sorting out one's own thoughts. I much prefer that to spitting out half true hallucinations as fact.

I love my new ✨fancy✨ sleep mask but I don't love how my brain decides it *feels* like there's a light leak and then projects a lighter area on one side when my eyes close.

The number of chatbot gatekeepers and personality tests required to apply for basic entry level jobs is ridiculous. The personality tests should be illegal. Probably the chatbots too. Hiring decisions (like when to pass on an application) should never be made by an unsupervised machine.

Somewhere in a marketing database, an incorrect date of birth was recorded. So now all the Medicare supplemental insurance providers think I'm turning 65 this year. And they won't stop sending mail about it 😫
