In federal court in Greenbelt, MD, where security is noticeably stepped up, perhaps b/ Kilmar Abrego Garcia is present in person. This is the first time he's appeared before Judge Xinis across the two cases of his she's heard starting in March b/ he's no longer detained by ICE or El Salvador.

yeah, I grew up and starting parenting in those decades. While I generally sympathize with young low end middle class white people I have have a hard time comprehending their expectations especially re the economic rationale for not having kids. You figure it out.

yeah, I was there for the oil shocks and stagflation and the Volcker recession. Maybe Krugman is on to something with his thoughts about inclusion and fairness. Granted I was young at the time but in those days I think it's fair to say there was more of a "we're all in this together" feeling.

honestly, if i were trying to design a place for the political opposition to take a stand against trump, i couldn't have done better than abrego garcia. by trying to destroy basic constitutional protections, it was *trump* who made this a dispute over due process and the Constitution.
