ah, perhaps instead of pumping millions into endless factional infighting Dem donors could invest in making local Dem organizations genuine civic spaces that can reach people during and between elections

Mamdani has now gotten more votes than 1/4 of the members of the United States Senate did when they got elected. The political power being channeled here is immense.

New Orleans has had the fewest murders this year since 1970. Carjackings are down 80% relative to 2022, vehicle burglaries are down 70%, shootings are down 63%. This is a wholly unnecessary stunt that will hurt local businesses.

"We are asking the Department of War to deploy to our cities" should be a statement that ends any Governor's political career.
Louisiana Gov. Jeff Landry: "Tonight, we're sending the Department of War a request to send the National Guard, asking them to deploy the National Guard here in Louisiana into our cities like New Orleans and Baton Rogue and others."

I have a special distaste for Charlie Kirk. We were honored with Forbes 30 Under 30 the same year and that pissed me off.

Also I disagree with him on most everything and think he makes the country worse.

AND political violence has no place in American politics. No caveats.

I debated writing this. It can feel tempting, upon encountering yet another instance of this administration’s racism, to let it be. How many ways can you say the same thing over and over again? And yet we have to write it down, if for nothing else, so those who come after us know we were against it.

So proud of our team that supported the filing of this brief, and the amici retired 4 stars and service secretaries. Some of them served America half a century, and are still serving now— using their voices to call out the dangers of using our military in a political mission, in our own country.
In an amicus brief we filed in California last night on behalf of former U.S. Army and Navy secretaries and retired four-star admirals and generals, they raise concerns over the domestic deployment of U.S. military forces in Los Angeles:

I think this was a *huge* factor. And in general, the precarity that people feel is significantly impacted by the way that financial perspective has been distorted. I would love to see the overlap of low-info swing voters and those gamble-investing on crypto, sports betting, and in-app loot boxes.
Given that I’m still seeing posts from people who don’t understand economics trying to convince me that I’m poorer than I was before, I have to wonder if we’re underestimating crypto’s effect on the 2024 elections and its role in convincing people inflation is worse than a recession.
