Long shot: anyone know of a dairy-free/vegan chocolate bar that is like Hershey's? Dark chocolate is probably fine, but texture/waxiness is definitely needed. (This is not for me!)

In between calls to various officials, I spent a few minutes and made my first Obsidian plugin. It makes table headers sticky. github.com/adamwolf/sti...

I haven't submitted it to the plugin catalog yet. First, I'd love at least a thumbs up from a few other folks who have used it.

I've been away for a while, folks, dealing with some particularly persistent identity fraud stuff. I probably won't share any real details in public, but it's a hell of a story.

@atinygreencell.bsky.social Apologies if I've asked you this before. Have you written anything already on resources/projects for kids for bio stuff?

If I want to build a personal library or saved links / quotes / articles, with some way of publishing and sharing parts of it - what's the best solution?

I have a hunch @obsidian.md is part of the solution? Or maybe aredotna?

Ultimate output conceptually similar to this:

Lab on the Cheap (www.labonthecheap.com) looks like an amazing resource, but no updates since 2021. I periodically run across great journal articles, but is there a place where articles on DIY cheap lab equipment are gathered?

I've got a real itch to design and build a homebrew low-cost atomic force microscope. I'm super curious what can be done with hobbyist tools, technique, and supplies these days, leaning on 3D printing, cheap PCBs, cheap parts.

folks, this energy-harvesting holiday card project and writeup is so awesome that if I were able to behold all of its glory at the same time, I would melt like the end of Raiders of the Lost Ark

Anyone use the Mikono's Creamery pourable vegan mozzarella? I don't have much experience with vegan cheeses, but it was so compelling I had to pick some up when I saw it.

Folks who are waiting on stuff from me: one of the kids brought home a noro-y bug, and it took us out one by one. It feels like I'm on the mend, but oof.

If you haven't played Heaven's Vault, I highly recommend it.
Occasionally I remember this insane timeline UI we made for Heaven’s Vault which lets you zoom between the past 3 seconds all the way to 3 MILLENNIA of history 🕑

That was a cooool thing to work on

I head someone explain this as “Good weird is being weird about your own business, bad weird is being weird about other people’s business” and I thought that summed it up pretty well.
Stop being the bad kind of weird. This place is for the good kind of weird only. 🦋

Watching Transformers One with my kids. So far, it's... good? Folks in power creating and exploiting an underclass through lies about the past and threats of unemployment (which is one step before death, of course). Losing yourselves in rage against injustice. Are these typical Transformers themes?

I'm new here, but I ran into the "Quiet Posters" (bsky.app/profile/why....) feed, which shows only posts from your quieter folks.

How kind.

This past week on Bluesky has really felt like "we're getting the band back together", which reminded me of an excellent episode of Phineas and Ferb, "Dude, We're Getting the Band Back Together", with this banger, "Ain't Got Rhythm" www.youtube.com/watch?v=KTdF...

I love this.

It's entirely possible to read The Pushcart War and pick up on hardly any of this, right? I hope that it sits in folks' hearts and immunizes them, primes them, even just a bit.

(Is that true? Should we think it's true?)
I'm rereading The Pushcart War for reasons and am reminded again how it is not only science-fiction (set in the future!) and formally inventive, but also is a manual for collective action, resistance, protest, that is very relevant today. So here's a thread:

Set VBATT to 4V, don't connect VUSB, and the P-fet Q1 conducts. Why?

1) The body diode conducts, raising VREG_IN's voltage, and gate stays at ground*, so Q1 turns on?

2) Q1 turns on when the drain (not just source) is higher than the gate? Is this true? Negligible vs #1?

Something else?
