It can be a reasonable question to ask, especially if the path meanders, but I wish there were a better way to say "if there's anything to copy here, it's multiple levels deep" without diverting the conversation to *that*!

and a pr thing, too. I mean, if a 22 yo "computer whiz kid" says it... "And look here, it says he worked at SPACEX!"

I can do a good job guiding my kids' electronics-y/program-y/microcontroller-y/cad-y projects to a good level and build skills, but that's from a lifetime of practice and experience (and a nice workshop). With bio, I'm just an enthusiast on the sidelines, you know?
