Valve is making a console. The Steam Machine, a sleek box with the guts of a mid-range PC that runs SteamOS, will arrive in early 2026. Prices TBD, but unlike the failed Steam Machine initiative from a decade ago, this is Valve's own device. Big news www.bloomberg.com/news/article...

It's been a year and a half since I launched "Applying For Game Dev Jobs Simulator". It's only gotten worse since then, from what I can tell.

I once wrote a collection of short stories about futuristic technology, and none of the speculative ideas I could dream of about the future of transportation were as dumb as "let's put a Hitler-flavoured AI in a car"

Leaving Develop in Brighton early this year, but it has been a pleasure.

There's lots of reasons to be pessimistic about the games industry lately, but I always feel better after spending time with the wonderful humans who are, against all the odds, still making brilliant things.

I'm headed to Develop in Brighton this morning! Only going to be there for around 24 hours this year, so if you wanna say hi, you're going to have to just dive in as soon as you see me. Good news though, I like talking to people from the internet. Let's get to it.

Most people overestimate their moral courage under pressure

probably because they imagine a large man on a suit grinning a little too widely and handing a contract to be signed in blood

moral compromise is often much, much subtler
