New preprint alert! 🚨 Check this fantastic paper on Turbot's embryogenesis from the Martinez's lab. Excellent work by @aramburico.bsky.social and all co-authors and framed in the AQUA-FAANG project. Very grateful to have contributed to it!
Happy to share our preprint on the epigenomics of embryogenesis in turbot! Congrats and thanks to all the co-authors and the AQUA-FAANG project for all the hard work 🙂https://www.biorxiv.org/content/10.1101/2024.12.12.628162v1
Epigenomics of embryogenesis in turbot (Scophthalmus maximus)
Embryogenesis is the crucial first step of ontogeny, where an organism with a complex body plan arises from a single undifferentiated totipotent cell. This process is orchestrated by dynamic changes i...

Dear funding agencies,

I know we all want to discover the wonder drug that will cure the horrible diseases, but to do that, we need to invest in basic, unsexy, foundational research on how the systems work. Funding can’t all be drug development.

Sincerely,
Looking for basic research grants.

Do all #NTFs regulate #MotorNeuron axonal transport in vivo?

Our new preprint shows they do not.

#BDNF enhances (shorturl.at/siwFi), #CNTF slows, and #HGF, #NRTN & #proBDNF show no effect.

#AxonalTransport regulation is selective, not universal.

“In Finland, the number of homeless people has fallen sharply. Those affected receive a small apartment & counselling with no preconditions. 4 out of 5 people affected make their way back into a stable life. And all this is CHEAPER than accepting homelessness.”

It costs a lot less to house people.
