This is simply untenable. There is no way forward with media and political classes captured by the right. Every time someone commits a crime you have to pray it's not an undesirable or it's purge time, then when it turns out to be themselves again they just shrug and wait for the next one.

It's about damn time someone broke Strom Thurmond's shameful record.

Booker: "I confess that I have been imperfect. I confess that I've been inadequate to the moment. I've confess that the Democratic Party has made terrible mistakes that gave a lane to this demagogue. I confess we all must look in the mirror and say 'we will do better.'"

Just so everybody understands, Booker has been speaking cogently about the issues the entire time and Strom Thurmond famously spent hours reading from the encyclopedia, because segregationists were and are dumbshits
If Sen. Cory Booker makes it to 7:19 p.m. EST, he will break segregationist Dixiecrat Strom Thurmond's record for his 24 hour 18 minute Senate floor speech against the Civil Rights Act of 1957.

I expect the number INFECTED with measles in the US is several times higher than the reported CASES of 222. That's because two deaths have been reported and the CDC guidance is that 1,000 infections will lead to 1-3 deaths.
Not surprising, cases are always lower than infections in the population.

Okay so we can all agree that we're no longer heading for fascism, right? We're just in it, it's here, this is who we are now.
As predicted, women in New Hampshire had a hard time voting yesterday because of the new proof of citizenship law:

“It doesn’t have my married name on it,” she said. Town voting officials then sent her away a second time, to get her marriage certificate.

NH’s new ID requirements send some would-be voters home to grab passports, birth certificates
The law requires all new voters to show proof of their U.S. citizenship. For some, that meant making multiple trips to and from the polls before finally casting a ballot on Tuesday.

Just a heads up for peeps, if you bought a Neil Gaiman audiobook from Audible, they are allowing refunds for them with no questions asked and no matter how long ago you bought them. I don’t even have an active subscription and they gave me credits back for two titles purchased in 2020.

No matter where you fall on the TikTok ban, the President undoing by “executive order” a law passed by Congress and upheld unanimously by the Supreme Court is an unconstitutional abuse of power.

This country wants poor people to die. They want them to suffer from treatable conditions. They are gleeful about it. And that’s why no one cares about an insurance CEO. This is their bed and they get to lie on it.

Galinda is peak white feminism. In the beginning she's selfish and doesn't listen, then when she starts being empathetic her first attempts at altruism are superficial, i.e. making Elphaba more "popular", and changing her name to Glinda. But when things get scary, she retreats back to her old life.
