There are two attributes of roads that make people more willing to take a bike:

1. slow traffic (<25mph)
2. physically separated lanes

If you're building bicycle infrastructure without one of those, you're not going to increase ridership
I think a lot about compounding changes, and I think one of the least discussed are the nationwide cultural effects from the political lack of accountability, lack of decency, and obvious conflict of interests.

The number of convicted criminals in immigration detention is about 1.8x what it was when Trump took office.
The number of people with no criminal record whatsoever — who are detained solely for immigration reasons — has shot up **25.5x**

My go-to credit card charged me a late fee. The benefits were meh. I asked them to waive the fee, and they wouldn't. I waited a month and asked again. Apparently this type of thing is going around the industry:

NIL inequities creates the need for a college sports luxury tax.

Every kid who doesn’t get recruited to their choice schools is going to look for down-market playing opportunities and then transfer out.

That’s not college. That mini-pro.

It's amazing how so many billionaires - who have WAY more money than they could possibly need in 500 lifetimes - REALLY want to avoid paying small slivers of tax money to benefit a common good like social safety services for less fortunate countrymen within the society that made them billionaires.
