Dems backed Trump into a corner where he’s advocating for starving Americans and hemorrhaging support. If they vote to let him off the hook in exchange for nothing it’s a cataclysmic failure. I know people are in pain but insulating Republicans from political consequences is not the answer.

On the two biggest contests in the past week — the NYC election and the shutdown — Chuck Schumer isn’t just voting with Republicans; he’s voting explicitly with *Donald Trump*
Sounds like the squishes in the senate caucus are ready to pull the plug with no ACA changes. This is real. If you want to register your opinion you shld call yr senator in the next hour. They not only want to reopen w/nothing. They want cover from their colleagues who still want to hold out.

Their customer base was very loyal, particularly to the idea of an upscale "walmart for liberals," an image that Target leaned into since after the cultural lines were drawn in the Bush II years. Shopping at Target was an affectation for many people!
