Finally picked this back up. I’m very nearly finished with it, and, if I deliberately avoid staring at my errors for too long, I’m quite proud of it. Just hope the Swiftie it’s being made for likes it.

Context free since it’s work related and confidentiality matters, but I’d like the people who decided on the entitlements asylum seekers get to look into an asylum seeker’s eyes and explain why they don’t deserve even £50 a week to live off.

I hope this email never finds you. I hope a single shaft of light pierces the broken ceiling, giving life to saplings and ferns. I hope the old computer went dark years ago, and the office smells of moss and wild spores. I hope that you are free.

Etymology of the day: spiders were once known as ‘attercops’, or ‘poison-heads’, because it was believed most spiders were venomous. The ‘cop’ element became the ‘cob’ in ‘cobweb’.

I am once again asking you to stop engaging with or buying anything Harry Potter.
J.K. Rowling is using her wealth attained from the "Harry Potter" series to create an organization dedicated to removing transgender people's rights "in the workplace, in public life, and in protected female spaces.”

“We are not disposable”

We're running two workshops (online & in person) with trans people to explore and exhibit trans ephemera. This is an opportunity to take part in and co-create a piece of trans celebratory art that will be displayed in the Vagina Museum.

Recently changed GP surgery and the change from, “no appointments for your child’s acute health need sorry” to, “yes we reviewed your form and the GP wants to see you today - can you come in half an hour?” Is making my head spin

My kid has barely been back at school after the Easter holidays and already has nits. This has been an ongoing pattern since November/December. At this point I’m seriously considering making “nit shampoo” part of our weekend routine. 😤

This exactly.
Labour insiders, listen carefully, this is not enough. Why would a voter vote Reform-lite to stop Reform getting into No. 10? If you want to squeeze Green votes you need to match Green policies. Be a centre-left party again.
May 3, 2025 at 10:43 AM
At the same time, I’ll temper my previous comment by acknowledging that labour are likely to continue to try to outdo Reform, and lose their base (and those who would vote for them with gritted teeth) in the process. Reform voters will always vote for the real thing.
May 3, 2025 at 10:41 AM
It helps me to remember that there are far more Green councilors out there than Reform councilors, no matter how much the media is painting this like the Greens gains were tiny. Reform went from zilch whereas the Greens are building.

A trans woman wrote to Wetherspoons to ask which toilets they're meant to use. Wetherspoons replied acknowledging the Supreme Court's verdict...and that trans customers can use whichever loos they want to but to please lock the cubicle door.

Labour now being outflanked on the left by Wetherspoons.

I turned up 20 minutes early and was immediately let in. My appointment finished ten minutes before my appointment time. It was also easy breezy and all my stress was for *nothing*
I have an appointment at 12:45. I need to be there 15 minutes early. I arrived 45 minutes earlier than my 15 mins early call time. I am in a cafe, where I have downed an ice coffee like a fresher downing booze on their first bar crawl. If I leave now I’ll arrive 10 mins early. I’m probably leaving.
