theres no reason why grandma who only watches youtube videos, talks on facebook and plays solitaire needs 8gb of ram, but the new os that installed itself on her machine without asking requires it to spy on her so I guess shes got to hit the tech aisle now

in 2015 a decade old pc would be basically unusable but now in 2025 a decade old midrange pc is still ok for the average consumer, which is hurting profits, so there is currently a rush to manufacture interest in newer hardware by forcing new shit onto users, incase you were still wondering

I think Democrats should double down on trans rights now. It's obvious that most voters don't care about it so you might as well stick with your principles and goad Republicans into focusing on it at the expense of everything else so they're the ones who look like freaks.

We do know who killed JFK. The Warren Commission was an incredibly thorough and good-faith effort to prove and document what had happened, which they did. The conspiracy theories arose in spite of best efforts to avoid them, but there really isn't anything they could have reasonably done better.
My first political memory - exactly 62 years ago right now, a 4-year-old boy trying to understand his mom's tears - is still the biggest event in my lifetime. We still (IMO) don't *really* know who killed JFK, but we know the public's trust was shattered. It's a straight line to today's mess
